NYC Wins Bid to Toss Probation Officers’ Bias Suit, for Now

New York won dismissal of a lawsuit claiming that it systemically discriminates against Black and Hispanic female probation officers, after a federal district court in Manhattan said the complaint was missing factual allegations necessary for their Title VII claims.

The court said the plaintiffs’ expert’s conclusion that White males are almost twice as likely to become supervising probation officers than their female counterparts of other races was “deeply troubling.”
