A former member of the experimental metal band The Deftones sued a New York City restaurant, arguing that the Mexican vegan restaurant’s branding infringes on trademarks he holds as a social media influencer.
Sergio Vega and his life partner Annette Rodriguez allege Pinche Vegana, a restaurant located in Astoria, Queens, are infringing their co-owned “Pinche Vegano” trademark by selling vegan food and related apparel, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Pinche Vegano translates to “lousy vegan” in English.
