NY Revives Suit Against Capital One Dropped by Trump CFPB (1)

New York’s attorney general sued Capital One Financial Corp. for allegedly misleading customers about savings-account interest rates, in claims that mirror a federal case dropped earlier this year by the Trump administration.

The suit, filed Wednesday in federal court in Manhattan by state Attorney General Letitia James, accuses Capital One of cheating customers of an online savings account program out of millions of dollars by denying them the higher interest rate available in a different account.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau filed a similar case against Capital One in January, just as President Joe Biden was leaving office. ...
