NY Road Runners Sues to Protect Brooklyn Half Marathon Marks

New York Road Runners Inc. is suing New York City Runs Inc. for promoting its own half marathon in Brooklyn that violates NYRR’s “Brooklyn Half” and “Brooklyn Half Marathon” trademarks.

NYRR, a nonprofit organization that annually puts on the New York City Marathon, has been using the “Brooklyn Half” and “Brooklyn Half Marathon” marks to promote its half marathon for over 40 years, the complaint filed Feb. 16 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York says.
