NY Puts Pause on Algorithmic Pricing Act Enforcement

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) on Monday told a federal judge her office will hold off, for now, on enforcing a state law requiring retailers to tell customers that they use algorithmic pricing.

Enforcement of the law, which was supposed to take effect July 8, will be paused while Judge Jed Rakoff decides a motion for a preliminary injunction on the law. If Rakoff, of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, denies the preliminary injunction, the attorney general’s office will wait 30 more days to begin enforcement, requiring retailers using algorithms to set ...
