A union representing suburban New York City legal aid attorneys will pay $315,000 to settle a lawsuit from lawyers who claimed the union retaliated against them after they spoke out against a resolution they viewed as antisemitic.
The settlement amount was disclosed Thursday in a joint stipulation and order dismissing the lawsuit with prejudice from three attorneys with the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County. The attorneys and the chapter of the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys announced their intentions to settle the matter to Southern District of New York Judge J. Paul Oetken on Oct. 3.
