NY Judge Sends GoPuff Delivery Drivers’ Wage Suit to Arbitration

A federal court in New York sided with GoPuff and its related entities, finding that a group of its delivery drivers must arbitrate claims that the on-demand delivery company failed to pay them a fair wage.

The drivers said that GoPuff erroneously classified them as independent contractors, but they were actually employees subject to US and New York wage laws. But the valid arbitration agreement the drivers signed when they applied online controls their claims here, Magistrate Judge Gary Stein said Wednesday for the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
