A golf club near New York City with Hudson River views misclassified its caddies as independent contractors when they’re really employees entitled to additional wage protections, a new suit alleges.
Hudson National Golf Club maintained “formal and functional control” over the caddies’ work, but classified them as contractors so it could “evade the costs and responsibilities of employment,” according to a complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
