NY Doctor Sues Employers for Alleged Disability Discrimination

A New York physician sued her employers and another doctor for alleged violations of Americans with Disabilities Act and other state laws.

Dr. Melissa Glasser-Caine, an obstetrician-gynecologist, filed a lawsuit on Friday against her employers Optum Care Inc., CareMount Medical P.C., ProHealth Care Associates LLP, and Dr. Nicholas Tarricone, alleging violations of the ADA, the New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York Labor Law whistleblower statute.

Glasser-Caine alleges that after she became disabled in a 2020 skiing accident, the defendants failed to accommodate her disability by allowing Tarricone to manipulate schedules and cancel her patient appointments.
