NY City Council Calls for ‘Unifying’ Attorney for Top Legal Post

The New York City Council called for Mayor Eric Adams (D) to nominate someone to lead the city’s law department who “is unifying rather than divisive” after King & Spalding Partner Randy Mastro withdrew his nomination.

The statement from spokesperson Julia Agos soon after Mastro dropped out of contention for corporation counsel on Tuesday also said the council looks forward to working with the administration to advance someone who “has the trust of all city elected officials,” and can win council support.
