Nursing Home Operator Denied Immunity in Covid Death Lawsuit

HCR Healthcare LLC must defend claims that it failed to take appropriate action to protect a patient from contracting Covid-19, from which he died in May 2020.

The Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act didn’t immunize the skilled nursing facility operator from suit for Robert McRedmond Sr.'s death, the US District Court for the District of Delaware said in an opinion denying the company’s motion to dismiss the suit.
