NRA Seeks End of Stay In Ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo Insurance Suit

The National Rifle Association asked the US District Court for the Northern District of New York Friday to end a discovery stay on the organization’s lawsuit alleging that ex-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) unconstitutionally pressured insurance companies to cut ties with the gun lobby.

The case had been stayed while another defendant in the case, former Department of Financial Services Superintendent Maria Vullo, argued an interlocutory appeal. That appeal ended in May when the US Supreme Court revived the NRA’s case against Vullo following a dismissal by the Second Circuit.
