Nourish Stuck With Wiretap Claim Over Use of Google Web Tracker

Nourish Inc., operator of a dietitian appointment site, couldn’t convince a federal court to dismiss a wiretapping claim from a proposed class suit that alleged it impermissibly sent Google data that contributed to targeted advertising.

The court had jurisdiction over Nourish, which does sufficient business in Illinois, and it’s plausible that the transmission of appointment data violated the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Judge Iain D. Johnston said for the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
