Norton Rose Fulbright says it’s owed $156.5 million from the state of Texas after taking on Google and securing a $1.375 billion settlement in a pair of anti-privacy lawsuits, according to invoices obtained by Bloomberg Law Monday.
The global firm rang up the bill through a high-dollar contingency fee agreement as outside counsel for Attorney General Ken Paxton (R). In May, Texas announced it had reached a settlement with the tech giant for tracking Texans’ personal location and maintaining their facial recognition data, both without consent.
