Northwestern Professors Sue Over Congress’ Clinic Data Asks (1)

Two Northwestern Law School professors on Wednesday sued to protect information about the school’s legal clinic work from a US House of Representatives committee they accused of violating their constitutional rights.

The lawsuit follows Congressional Republicans’ investigation into the school over concerns that the clinics use taxpayer resources for progressive political advocacy.

“The effort is part of the federal government’s ongoing attack on academic freedom, legal professionals, and the rule of law,” according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
