Northrop Grumman Sued Over Pollutants in Long Island Park

Northrop Grumman is facing a suit from a Long Island town over contamination and cleanup of a local park that is adjacent to a manufacturing site the company used between 1949 and 1962.

The Town of Oyster Bay said in a suit filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York on Tuesday that the company dumped hazardous waste from its manufacturing operations on the land that now makes up the Bethpage Community Park. The waste included polychlorinated biphenyl, arsenic, chlorinated and non-chlorinated solvents, and semi-volatile organic compounds, according to the complaint.
