North Dakota’s Abortion Ban Declaration Premature, Court Says

North Dakota’s only abortion clinic can continue providing care for now, as the state’s attorney general prematurely certified that the state can enforce a law prohibiting abortion, a North Dakota trial judge said.

Attorney General Drew Wrigley’s (R) June 28 certification that the US Supreme Court had restored the state’s ability to outlaw abortion as of June 24, when the top court issued its opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Org., would have put the law into effect July 28.
