North Dakota Accountants Fail to Dislodge Data Breach Lawsuit

North Dakota accounting firm Brady Martz & Associates PC must face a proposed class action alleging it breached its duty to protect the personal information of nearly 54,000 people that was exposed in a 2022 data breach.

The plaintiffs plausibly alleged that Brady Martz had a duty of care to safeguard their personal information under the laws of North Dakota, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, Judge Peter D. Welte of the US District Court for the District of North Dakota said Wednesday.
