Norfolk Southern Sued by East Palestine Schools After Derailment

The school district of East Palestine, Ohio, the site of a fiery 2023 train derailment, sued Norfolk Southern Corp. on Wednesday and said the company hasn’t followed through on its promises to properly address the fallout.

The rail giant hasn’t reimbursed the East Palestine City School District for using school facilities as an incident command center after the derailment, and for housing and transporting residents who were evacuated, according to the lawsuit filed in US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
