The Electric Power Board of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County must face trial on a Black former utilities supervisor’s claims that he was subjected to racial harassment through most of his 36 years of employment and denied a deserved promotion, a federal court ruled.

A jury could find the work environment Tracy Gooch experienced after he started as a custodian in 1984 through his retirement in 2020 violated federal law, the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee said.
