People seeking public accommodations for emotional support animals won a major victory Wednesday, with the New Jersey Supreme Court making it easier to fight against alleged discrimination for animal therapy access.
The unanimous decision rejected a condo association’s claim that a 30-pound weight limit for pets, and a lack of initial prescription from a doctor, should doom the discrimination claims of a woman with severe mental health problems who often spent hours in her condo closet with the animal to treat her anxiety.
