A maker of plastic “ghost gun” designs can’t sue New Jersey claiming its computer code is protected by the First Amendment because it didn’t disclose key data, the Third Circuit ruled Thursday.

Texas-based Defense Distributed sued New Jersey over its regulations on 3D printer designs, claiming they were violating free speech protections by targeting the code used to produce untraceable firearms.
