Nissan Sued Over California Emissions Warranty Coverage (1)

Nissan North America Inc. fails to properly pay for repair and replacement of transmissions that should be covered under a California warranty for vehicles sold as environmentally friendly, a new proposed class action alleges.

California regulations provide a 15-year/150,000-mile warranty for vehicles referred to as “partial zero emissions vehicles,” which were developed to meet California’s strict air quality standards.

Nissan receives environmental credits from the state for PZEVs in exchange for honoring the warranty, Lux Global Auto Sales Inc. says in the suit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
