Nintendo Gets $10 Million From Alleged Leader of Piracy Group

Nintendo of America Inc. will get $10 million from a leader of a purported piracy group accused of selling hacked versions of the company’s consoles and games, according to a Tuesday filing in a federal court in Washington.

Nintendo sued Gary Bowser in April, saying he made a living out of stealing work via a piracy organization called Team Xecuter. The company sought $2,500 for each sale of an unauthorized operating system that hijacks the Nintendo Switch video game console to play any pirated game made for it.
