A small clothing designer faces a lawsuit from Nike Inc. and Converse Inc. alleging it improperly claims ownership of trademarks related to the sneaker giants’ “Love, Hurts.” and “Love, Chuck” marketing campaigns.
Love, Kelly Holdings LLC started a social media campaign claiming Nike and Converse stole its “LOVE, KELLY” and “DEAR LOVE” branding, but it doesn’t own federally registered trademarks for the slogans, the companies said in a Friday complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
