NHL Allegedly Infringed Copyrighted Joe Louis Arena Photo Online

A self-taught photographer sued the marketing affiliate of the National Hockey League for allegedly using her photo of a Detroit arena on its website without her authorization.

Alanna St Laurent filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against NHL Enterprises LP after allegedly discovering the company used her protected work to advertise and promote sales to the public. St Laurent created the “Joe Louis Arena” photography in 2015 and later registered the photo with the US Copyright Office in March 2018, according to her complaint.
