NFL Players Association Faces Revived Harassment Claims by Agent

An NFL players’ agent won reinstatement of some claims against the National Football League Players Association stemming from his suspension and alleged harassment by the NFLPA, after the Sixth Circuit Monday found federal labor law doesn’t bar the allegations.

Section 9 of the National Labor Relations Act doesn’t preempt Vincent Porter’s claims of negligence, breach of contract and breach of duty because his claims don’t directly challenge the NFLPA’s right of exclusive representation, the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said in an unpublished opinion authored by Judge Danny J.
