Next Jump Executives’ Trial on Bribery Charges Ends in Hung Jury

Next Jump co-CEOs Charlie Kim and Meghan Messenger’s bribery trial ended with a hung jury and declaration of a mistrial on Thursday.

They’d deliberated for seven days in the US District Court for the District of Columbia before sending a note to Judge Trevor N. McFadden saying they were at an impasse.

Prosecutors accused Kim and Messenger of offering now-retired four-star Navy Admiral Robert Burke a post-retirement job with Next Jump in exchange for steering government business their way.

The job paid $500,000 a year and came with equity interest in the company, prosecutors said.
