Newsom Signs California Concealed Carry Law, NRA to Fight It (2)

Californians seeking permits to carry concealed weapons will have a new process under legislation Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Tuesday that’s already the subject of a lawsuit.

Newsom (D) signed Senate Bill 2 in Sacramento, the state’s capital, during a news conference. The measure maintains restrictions on carrying concealed weapons in 27 specific “sensitive spaces,” including all daycare and school grounds; college campuses; government and judicial buildings; public parks and playgrounds; public demonstrations and gatherings; polling places; and any place where alcohol is sold.
