Newsom Pick Would Be First Latina on California Supreme Court

Gov. Gavin Newsom named Fourth District Court of Appeal Justice Patricia Guerrero to the California Supreme Court. Guerrero would be the first Latina justice if confirmed.

Guerrero was a trial judge, a Latham and Watkins LLP partner from 2007 to 2013, and an assistant U.S. attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California from 2002 to 2003.
