New York Seeks Millions of Dollars for Crypto Ponzi Scheme

Crypto trading company NovaTechFX and crypto mining company AWS Mining Pty Ltd. defrauded investors out of more than $1 billion in cryptocurrency, New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) alleged in a lawsuit filed Thursday in Manhattan.

A state investigation revealed that investors, including over 11,000 New Yorkers, deposited over $1 billion of crypto in NovaTech from 2019 to 2023, but less than $26 million was actually traded on NovaTech’s cryptocurrency trading platform before it folded, according to a press release from James’ office.
