New York-Presbyterian Worker Advances Covid-Shot Religion Suit

New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s former pharmacy purchasing manager can pursue claims he was denied a remote-work arrangement as an accommodation for his religious objection to receiving Covid-19 vaccination, a federal judge ruled.

The decision turned in part on whether accommodating the employee would have imposed an undue hardship on the hospital’s business. It’s plausibly alleged in the January 2023 lawsuit that he could have performed his role ordering drugs requested by pharmacies at hospitals affiliated with New York-Presbyterian if he’d been allowed to work remotely and the “nature of hardship” accommodation would’ve presented involves determinations of fact that can’t be made ...
