New York Federal Judge Laments Perception of Justice System Bias

The criminal justice system is facing very real challenges amid a growing public perception that courts have become political entities, New York-based federal Judge Valerie Caproni told the Women’s White Collar Defense Association.

“You see it in press accounts, where not always but frequently the article will identify the president who appointed a federal judge, as though that tells you something about where the judge is leaning,” she said Tuesday during the association’s awards gala.
