New York State’s Commission on Judicial Nomination announced Wednesday it’s seeking recommendations and applications for people to fill the seat of Court of Appeals Judge Jenny Rivera.
The state’s highest court will have a vacancy beginning Feb. 10, 2027, when Rivera’s 14-year term expires. The judge, who will be 66 in December, plans to apply for another term, a spokesperson for the state court system said, but she must be considered against other potential nominees. The deadline for applications is Aug. 10.
