An immigration attorney was suspended for one year in New York on Tuesday for neglecting a client matter and other rule violations related to a fumbled visa application.
In 2016, Mehmet Arda Beskardes was paid $3,500 by a Turkish rock musician for assistance in preparing and filing an O-1B visa application based on extraordinary ability in the arts. The application was denied for failure to submit the proper documentation, and Beskardes failed to file a motion to reopen the decision.
