The American Civil Liberties Union and Lambda Legal filed a lawsuit Wednesday on behalf of a group of parents challenging Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) directive to investigate families who are providing gender-affirming care to their transgender children.
The lawsuit filed in a Travis County district court seeks to block the state from continuing its investigations against three families and any members of PFlag Inc., the first and largest organization for parents and family members of LGBTQ+ people, with over 600 members and 17 chapters in Texas.
