Democratic political consultant James Devine pled guilty to election fraud for his role in a scheme to get a candidate whose campaign he was managing on the 2021 gubernatorial primary ballot.
Devine pleaded guilty in state court Monday to “offenses concerning nomination certificates or petitions” for his effort to get Lisa McCormick on the Democratic ballot to challenge Gov. Phil Murphy, which involved his submitting nearly 2,000 fake signatures.
