New Federal Prison Communication Policies Decried as Overkill

The service federal inmates use to send and receive emails to the outside world is no longer allowing people to send messages to more than 10 contacts at a time, a move prisoner advocates say is needlessly harming inmates and preventing nonprofits from helping them effectively.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons says the new CorrLinks limitation is a response to a Justice Department Office of Inspector General audit of the FBOP’s “Monitoring to Prevent Radicalization.”
