New Balance Athletics Inc. and a group of customers, who alleged the company deceptively marketed certain shoe models as “Made in the USA” when up to 30% of their components are produced outside of the US, have agreed to settle their suit.
Plaintiff Matthew Cristostomo brought a proposed class action against the sneaker company for charging a premium on US-made sneakers that didn’t satisfy Federal Trade Commission regulations which require products marketed as “Made in the USA” to be made “all or virtually all” in the United States.
