New Balance, Golden Goose End ‘Dad Shoe’ Trade Dress Suit

New Balance Athletics Inc. has agreed to dismiss its trade dress infringement suit that alleged Golden Goose USA Inc. infringed the trade dress of its 990 model “dad shoe” sneakers to create a similar pair of shoes.

• New Balance alleged Golden Goose intended to profit off the success of the trade dress for the 990 model shoe—which launched in 1982—by selling the $625 “Dad-Star” shoes.
