New Amsterdam Football Club and Chicago House Athletic Club filed suit in Delaware claiming they were wrongly excluded from the upcoming 2022 season of the National Independent Soccer Association, a third-tier minor league sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation.
The heavily redacted lawsuit, docketed late Monday in Delaware Chancery Court, accuses the league of breaching its contracts with the two clubs by effectively relegating them “to amateur team status for at least 2022 (and perhaps indefinitely).”
