NetChoice Beefs Up Suit Targeting California Kids Safety Law

A technology trade group whose members include Meta, Google, X and others is targeting the parts of California’s kids’ online safety law that the Ninth Circuit kept alive with an amended complaint seeking to pause implementation of the law.

NetChoice LLC beefed up allegations that the California Age-Appropriate Design Code Act’s restrictions on use of minors’ personal data by companies online violate the First Amendment, in an amended complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Friday.
