NetChoice Asks SCOTUS to Pause Mississippi Online Age Gate Law

NetChoice asked the US Supreme Court to vacate a Fifth Circuit order that allows Mississippi to enforce an online age-verification law against Meta Platforms Inc., YouTube LLC, X Corp., and other social media companies.

The tech industry group won a preliminary injunction against HB 1126, which requires children to get parental consent to create an account on some social media sites, and companies to mitigate the amount of harmful content a minor is inadvertently exposed to.

The petition will go to Justice Samuel Alito.
