Nestlé Purina Gets Claims Trimmed in Dog Food False-Ad Suit

Nestlé Purina Petcare Co. must face some claims in a proposed class suit alleging it deceives dog owners about ingredients in two products for pets with sensitive stomachs, but a federal court in Missouri threw out claims under that state’s consumer protection law.

Michelle Barker alleges that she paid a premium for Purina Pro Plan Adult Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon & Rice Formula and Purina Pro Plan Adult Sensitive Skin & Stomach Lamb & Oat Meal Formula based on Purina’s representations that they were free of corn, wheat, and soy.
