The NCAA won final approval for a $49.3 million deal to settle antitrust claims that it conspired to avoid paying Division I college volunteer baseball coaches, freeing the organization from litigation dating to 2022.
The average class member will receive $36,000, which will be allocated based on the number of years worked and the school for which each member worked under the deal approved by Judge William B. Shubb of the US District Court for the Eastern District of California in a Tuesday order.
The five-figure payout “represents a strong result for the class,” Shubb said.
