NBC’s Win in Video-Privacy Lawsuit Affirmed by Second Circuit

A proposed class action alleging NBCUniveral Media LLC illegally shared the video-viewing information of consumers with Meta Platforms Inc. in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act was rejected by a federal appeals court.

Plaintiff Sherhonda Golden failed to show that NBC disclosed her “personally identifiable information” as defined under the VPPA, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said Thursday in an unsigned opinion, affirming a lower court’s dismissal of the suit.
