The National Basketball Association again escaped a proposed class action suit from a man alleging the sports league violated federal video privacy laws, according to a district court Monday.
Michael Salazar’s allegations under the Video Privacy Protection Act mirror cases the Second Circuit have found “insufficient,” Judge Jennifer L. Rochon said for the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, granting dismissal with prejudice on each of Salazar’s claims.
The district “court—like all district courts within the Second Circuit—is bound by stare decisis ‘to follow decisions of the Second Circuit until that court says otherwise,’” Rochon said. ...
