NBA Affiliate, Arena Settlement Over On-Court Death Approved

A settlement of wrongful death claims between the estate of Zeke Upshaw—a rising basketball star who died on the court while playing for an affiliate of the Detroit Pistons—and the minor league team, DeltaPlex Arena, and emergency responders has won tentative approval.

In his Monday order, Judge Paul L. Maloney of the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan also ordered the estate to recalculate the requested attorneys’ fees.
