Natural Organics, Target Want Prenatal Vitamin Metals Suits Axed

Natural Organics Inc. and Target Corp. asked federal courts in California to throw out separate proposed class suits over their alleged failure to disclose possible traces of heavy metals in prenatal vitamins, saying the consumers raised no viable claims.

Jasmine Barnes—who said Natural Organics hid the presence of arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury—lacks standing to sue because she didn’t allege an injury attributable to the asserted deception, the company told the US District Court for the Central District of California.
