A group of California nail salons and technicians say the state’s law that bans the workers from acting as independent contractors is blatantly discriminatory.
The law effectively targets Vietnamese Americans, who make up 82% of all manicurists and pedicurists, and the 85% of nail technicians who are women, says the complaint filed the complaint Saturday in the US District Court for the Central District of California against Gov.
